▲8. This could be a game changer…

Since the 2018 United States Farm Bill was signed, Delta-8 (▲8) products are in the same category as CBD products. This makes them completely legal as long as the point of origin plant matter consisted of .3% Delta-9 THC. However, the legal status of delta eight THC at the federal level was tabled by the drug enforcement agency. The DEA wishes to make any THC product a schedule one drug and is currently in debate with the Hemp Industry Association. No decision has been rendered.

When we talk about getting high, or when we talk about THC levels in a product, we are normally referring to Delta-9 THC. Most THC products that are currently available are made with Delta-9 THC and comes with it’s classic effects. ▲8 THC is a different type of THC which offers a modest high without impairing function. However, for that the past couple of decades has been too difficult to extract in commercial quantities. But now we have the technology. Welcome ▲8.

▲8 THC is found in cannabis/hemp plants. However, the plant only provides this chemical in very small amounts. Generally less than 1%. So in order to experience what ▲8 can offer, it has to be delivered in larger quantities. Since it’s less then 1%, it has to be extracted and isolated or by synthesizing it through other cannabinoids.

So… What does this mean?

Because they are so close chemically, they share similar affects. A euphoric sensation can be expected from ▲8 products. However, it has been reported as being only 1/2 to 2/3 as potent as Delta-9. So, it is being reported as “Weed Lite”.

Delta-8 has anti-nausea properties, is an appetite stimulant, painkiller/distractor, neuroprotective, and has anti-anxiety capabilities.

Consumers who use these products, will fail a drug test. THC molecules store in fat cells and whether it is ▲8 or Delta-9 THC, it will react in the same fashion.

Possible side affects include:

  • Difficulty with thinking, reading, speaking, and remembering.
  • Sleepiness/Fatigue
  • Blurry Vision/Enhanced color contrast
  • Red eye
  • Dry mouth
  • Adnormal sensations/body awareness
  • Weakness
  • Reduced Motor Skills
  • Time Distortion
  • Euphoria
  • Relaxation
  • Racing thoughts

Sounds a lot like being high…

But the one thing stopping many Delta-9 fans from transitioning to Delta-8 was that their favorite products weren’t available in ▲8 form yet. But now, many companies are offering complete line ups including Tinctures, Vape Carts, Distillate, Edibles and more.
