Cheeba Launches Marijuana Mapping System, Offers Free Twitter Advertising

Medical Cannabis industry’s first search engine launches Google Maps-type listing system for dispensaries, marijuana doctors, smoke shops, and more, and gives cannabusinesses exclusive free access to Cheeba’s official Twitter page to advertise to patients in real time.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) September 12, 2011

Cheeba.com, the medical marijuana industry’s first and only cannabis-based search engine and advertising platform, today announced the launch of a geo-targeted mapping system as well as innovative new advertising opportunities for its partners. The search platform, which is under the umbrella of the Medical Cannabis Network (MCN, a FICARR company), now integrates sponsored listings from PotLocator.com directly into Cheeba at no extra cost, and gives cannabusinesses a free, real-time advertising portal via access to it’s official Twitter page.

“We’re following best practices in the online search space to create the most comprehensive and user-friendly marijuana search engine that also offers innovative advertising opportunities for businesses looking to target the worldwide cannabis community,” said Jason Draizin, Chairman and CEO of MCN. “By featuring the latest coupons from PotLocator.com and giving our advertisers exclusive free access to our Cheeba Twitter account, collectives and other cannabis-based businesses can deliver the latest deals directly to our patient base.”

Cheeba’s new marijuana mapping system is the cannabis equivalent of Google Maps. When a user searches for dispensaries and collectives, doctors, lawyers, head shops or any other type of marijuana-related business, local business listings are displayed on a map based on the actual search criteria as well as the user’s ip address.

Alongside the map, users are now presented with featured listings that showcase the latest deals and coupons from Pot Locator, MCN’s premier weed dispensary mapping site. In fact, PotLocator is now fully integrated into Cheeba. Cheeba search results for dispensaries and collectives will show the top 3 featured listings from PotLocator for any given area, along with coupons that are fully customizable by each respective dispensary. PotLocator’s featured listings will also appear first on Cheeba’s marijuana mapping system with icons that include direct links back to their PotLocator profiles.

Additionally, users can access the latest deals and coupons through Cheeba’s twitter feed, which is integrated into the search engine and can be updated with deals from any cannabis-based business. To show up on cheeba.com’s home page Twitter feed, businesses should use the twitter hashtag #cheeba and follow @CheebaDotCom. Those who follow CheebaDotCom AND use the #cheeba hashtag will also get retweeted in MCN’s effort to give businesses more ways to reach out to its cannabis community.

“These changes are part of our on-going goal to create a valuable resource for patients and to offer the most innovative, affordable and effective solutions for our advertisers,” added Draizin. “The new featured listings on Cheeba allow us to offer even more prominent ad space to our sponsored listings from PotLocator.com at no extra cost. And the Twitter feed not only gives cannabusinesses a free advertising portal, but it gives them exclusive access to patients searching on Cheeba, about cheeba, for cheeba, in real time.”
